Ipevo has become synonymous with solid product for the classroom at an affordable cost. I own several Ipevo products, and was quite pleased when asked if I would like to demo this unit.
First things first, if you own any other document camera by Ipevo, this one has a different feel to it. It seems much more rugged and durable, which is nice.
Also, it has a power button. This took a bit of getting used to, as none of the other units that I know of have this. Once I got used to it, it was no big deal, but I admit, I did find myself thinking something was wrong with it more than once, simply because I was unused to the button.
This camera puts out an extremely good image. I found it to be at least as good, if not better than, my other Ipevo unit.
The nicest thing about this unit is the fact that it is dual mode. You can plug this directly into a projector via a VGA cable, and you are projecting. This was an extremely nice feature. There are instances where teachers may want to project something and not have the hassle of going through a computer to do so. This camera solves that problem.
Overall, as usual, this camera by Ipevo performed flawlessly. It folds down upon itself for easy storage and packaging, which is handy when travelling to do PD away from home.
Bottom line: If you are in the market for an inexpensive document camera with the flexibility to perform with or without a laptop, this might just fit the bill. At $139, it is certainly a bargain.
